Quick Explanation of Poll

Don't be too hasty on voting! Wait until you've read this. I have to be quick though, as I have LOTS of homework.

In two weeks I'll be writing a 5 page movie review on a movie of my choice (Prof said any movie but Titanic) and I have no idea what to do. We'll be looking at everything including actors, shots, lighting, music, color, etc... if you know film (which I don't). I'll be watching this movie multiple times while taking notes (lol) so I only put a choice few of my favorites up on the poll because I want to actually like the movie. ^^

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. And PLEASE vote! It would help a lot.

God Bless!
~Shae

PS: I'll be posting more on MYC later... but I just wanted to say it was fun. And the Guthrie is forever amazing. And if you want pictures of those two things, plus the orchard I went to on Sunday, just raise your hand. :)

PSS: Speaking of Apologetics... that's a class I seriously want to take. God really put on my heart at MYC the subject of apologetics and telling the unsaved about Him...

PSSS: Why does no one comment? =P I mean, seriously, if you want me to keep posting, comment. Say what you thought, etc. Right now your silence makes my posts sound boring (please tell me if they are!!).

Apolog...etics...Er...gy

Gah! Sorry I haven't posted. *tries to sound poetic* The jaws of homework have opened up and are about to swallow me again. But this time it's actually not having enough time - instead of not having enough wit. (lol). I'm leaving for Minnesota Youth Convention Thursday morning and there's something happening tonight that will take up waaaay too much of my time.

*is excited*

I'M GOING TO THE GUTHRIE!!!!!!!!! Lol, for my birthday! Erm...half birthday? 3 quarters birthday! XD

My mom and I are going to see Little House on the Prairie with Melissa Gilbert in it. But tickets were sold out so we have to go stand in the rush line and buy the leftovers that night (lol). There's 12 guaranteed, but the line starts at 4:30. So guess what? My mom and I will be there at 4 O'clock ... 3 and a half HOURS before the show starts!

Heh, yeah... So apparently I'm bringing school along. Either that or I'll nap on the floor. X] *is that tired*

Well, I need to go finish picking out my monologue for Shakespeare today *can't decide between like, 4*

Poll is coming soon! I'll try to think of something while I'm away. Either that or have it up before I leave tomorrow.

God Bless! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Poetry (for once)

Hola.

Last night was extremely monotonous. XD. Took me forever to finish my math and I didn't get any other schoolwork done. But I DID make this awesome playlist *see bottom of blog* Let me know if you absolutely hate it or love it or want different music on it *thought about putting soundtrack music on it but doesn't even know where to start since she knows so many albums*

Highlight of yesterday: I bought the Newsies soundtrack!!!! :D :D :D :D :D Lol, I love that movie...

Um, so yeah. My parents left me at home with the centipedes, dog, and cat and my sister abandoned me for another sleepover (her like, 5th one in the past two months). So I watched The Forbidden Kingdom all by myself (well, excepting the dog) and ate an enormous bowl of ice cream. =P And that was my day.

I wrote a poem, but am too embarrassed to post it, so I post an old one I wrote back in August when I went on a poetry frenzy.

The Comfort of Crickets
8/30/08

The constant chirping
of crickets
is a calming rhythm,
a harmonious melody,
sometimes a soft
pianissimo, other times
a firm forte echoing
through the night’s
ebony blanket,
forever a lullaby.

Personally, I don't know why I wrote this. Maybe I was in a good mood, I don't know. I hate crickets! lol, at least, when I can hear them through my walls in my room (which is all summer). <_< Haha, but I guess the poem is true on occasion. *laughs*

Anyways, now that the poll is untied, I have no idea why I even put movies on there, because I don't know how to make a poll on movies, other than "which one did you like better/was your favorite?" lol... Help?

Blah.

Okay! I think I'm going to go get ready for the day, etc. We're going to an apple orchard at noon (when Dad gets back from hunting) and I'm bringing my camera so perhaps I'll have pictures tomorrow. We'll see. :D

God Bless!

More Randomosity

Hello again.

I've failed to write something good enough to post here, so I'll just entertain you in a different way. =P

Right now I'm working on my last lesson of Geometry (lesson 100)!!! On Monday I got to tutor with Hannah and then I can take the test and be done! But alas, I have to start Algebra right away (which is supposed to be algebra 2, but one and two are combined, so I'm practically starting all over) <_< :( I think I'm going to take a few placements tests but ANYWAYS...

I didn't come here to blog about math (yuck). I was cleaning out my favorites (lots of You Tube videos) when I found THIS!

Clicky --->> http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow.shtml

LOL! *fails to comment any furthur* ^^

Anywho...

I need someone to break the poll tie! XD

When my sister gets back from swimming (<_<) we'll finish watching our cheesy movie. But no, you don't get a movie review. Perhaps a book review though, since I just went to the library. BUT I'd better get back to my mortal enemy now...

TTFN!
~Shae

EDIT: WAIT! I've got a poll idea! *points down at her pictures* Okay, when the tie is broken, I'll post a few polls. :D

Praise Through Storms and Shine

So I read this awesome verse today that I thought was so much better than anything I could have written. I don't ever remember reading it before. I changed the format a little though. *points down*

“We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way:

In troubles, hardships and distresses;
In beatings, imprisonments and riots;
In hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;
In purity, understanding, patience and kindness;
In the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;
In truthful speech and in the power of God;
With weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
Through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report;
Genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
Known, yet regarded as unknown;
Dying, and yet we live on;
Beaten, and yet not killed;
Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;
Poor, yet making many rich;
Having nothing, and yet possessing everything.”

2 Corinthians 6:3-9

Oh my goodness. This is yet another reminder to me of trusting God through all the hardships and storms in my life. This semester I've actually had quite a few, however short they were. And they wouldn't have been that short if God hadn't held my hand through it all. *is totally in love with Him*

I am also reminded to trust God in the good times as well. This is just as important and we often forget it (I know I do).

So anyways, I'm praising God for the good times I've been having lately (and am having right now). Thank you, Jesus for helping me through all this and to see you at work.

*wants everyone to feel this joy*

God bless, everyone!

~Shae

P.S. *panics* Facebook stopped working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (lol)

*needs to think of better title*

Hey all.

I have no idea who reads this. Apparently I have at least one follower though *hugs Twin*. Please read it guys! And I don't care if you advertise. =P

So, here is a summary of my day/week/status. I'm sitting in the computer lab at school trying to study my Spanish (we have an oral test today), but to no avail. I already know most of it, so studying just makes me bored. However, I'm not excited to hear my voice over and over and have to think of things to say for one whole minute. <_< We'll see how it goes...

Last night I worked on my paper and finished by midnight, but I still didn't get enough sleep. *is a tad miffed at the not being able to sleep part*. But I'm so excited because today is Thursday!! :D :D :D No school tomorrow because Freshman Comp was cancelled all week. I had a conference with my prof in her office today, which went well. My paper's pretty much finished, I just still have a few questions for her. *is happy*

By the way, thanks to everyone for chatting with me in these past couple weeks(if you ever even read this). I appreciate it. I believe it helps me work. Because if I'm not talking to someone or listening to music I get pretty down (working on homework anyway). It's just nice to have someone to vent to. =P

Anyways...

*is listening to Hero by Superchic[k]* I love this song!

Meh...Better log off soon before they yell at me for not doing homework. Class starts in 20 minutes, might as well head over there. :D (After this song).

My sister and I are planning on watching The Forbidden Kingdom tonight (random Jackie Chan/Jet Li movie). Hehe. Dad picked it out. Last week we watched The Truman Show and Ladyhawke *wub*. I realllllllllllllly liked Ladyhawke and my only regret is that I never saw if before this!! LOL

And I think my mom and I are going to the Guthrie on Monday night to see Little House on the Prairie (with Melissa Gilbert as Ma)!!! I'm uber excited!!! AND... (I know, aren't I busy?) we might go see Fireproof this weekend. :D

Okay, I'm done now. Have a good day! TTFN! (I might have a smidgeon of writing for you later on).

So Random

I know this is random, but...

I want to go paintballing! Call me crazy, but it's true. I'll probably freak out and change my mind once I get out there and face murder, but it is so fun! Although, I don't want to get another apple-sized bruise like last time (in 2006).

My computer is slow. Time to call it a day.

Why

This is a song that I heard over a year ago. I liked it, but it didn't really touch me the way it did a couple days ago. I really like it, and thought I'd post it. It's called Why by Nicole Nordeman:

We rode into town the other day
Just me and my Daddy
He said I'd finally reached that age
And I could ride next to him on a horse
That of course was not quite as wide

We heard a crowd of people shouting
And so we stopped to find out why
And there was that man
That my dad said he loved
But today there was fear in his eyes

So I said "Daddy, why are they screaming?
Why are the faces of some of them beaming?
Why is He dressed in that bright purple robe?
I'll bet that crown hurts Him more than He shows
Daddy, please can't you do something?
He looks as though He's gonna cry
you said he was stronger than all of those guys
addy, please tell me why
Why does everyone want him to die?"

Later that day the sky grew cloudy
And Daddy said I should go inside
Somehow he knew things would get stormy
Boy was he right
But I could not keep from wondering
If there was something he had to hide

So after he left I had to find out
I was not afraid of getting lost
So I followed the crowds
To a hill where I knew men had been killed
And I heard a voice come from the cross

And it said, "Father, why are they screaming?
Why are the faces of some of them beaming?
Why are they casting their lots for My robe?
This crown of thorns hurts Me more than it shows
Father, please can't You do something?
I know that You must hear My cry
I thought I could handle the cross of this size
Father, remind Me why
Why does everyone want Me to die?
When will I understand why?"

"My precious Son, I hear them screaming
I'm watching the face of the enemy beaming
But soon I will clothe You in robes of My own
Jesus, this hurts Me much more than You know
But this dark hour I must do nothing
Though I've heard Your unbearable cry
The power in Your blood destroys all of the lies
Soon You'll see past their unmerciful eyes
Look there below, see the child
Trembling by her father's side
Now I can tell You why
She is why You must die"

God Bless,
~Shae

Redemption

Wow. I apologize to all you readers out there for not updating as often as I should and would like. Maybe that post on college was a warning - I have a lot less time on my hands than I used to. But since I've rediscovered my love of journaling every day, I might as well give you all an insight into my life every so often. (or more often than not).

So...Right now I'm off to go practice my flute. Then piano and mayyybe I'll get to guitar today. We'll see. I have absolutely nothing else to do, because I have no life. XD And I'm babysitting tonight (which is good!).

Umm...Ooh, and I have to write my Grab Bag poem (Clean Place extra credit challenge) today. Like, it's mandatory. *almost forgot*

*wishes she had a cell phone like all normal 16 year olds*

TTFN!
